Intrinsic Therapeutics is backed by leaders in healthcare venture capital.

Intrinsic Therapeutics, Inc. is a privately owned company that was incorporated in February 2000 to design, develop, manufacture and market medical devices for use in treating spinal disorders. 

In February 2000, Intrinsic completed a series A financing with Spray Venture Partners.  Intrinsic closed series B in January 2001 for 7.5m with New Enterprise Associates and Spray Venture Partners.  A series C round was closed in December 2002 for 25m with New Leaf Venture Partners and New Enterprise Associates.

The latest round, series D, closed in August 2007 for 21m including New Enterprise Associates, New Leaf Venture Partners and Quilvest.

Funding raised through series D has been used to build Intrinsic in the area of product development, testing, and attracting talented individuals to build a strong company for the purpose of conducting clinical trials and building a marketing and sales initiative.

The company has a strong focus on building for the future in the area of product and procedure development.

New Leaf Venture Partners
New Leaf Venture Partners (formerly The Sprout Group) is one of the oldest and largest venture capital firms in the U.S. Since 1969, Sprout has helped finance more than 300 companies with combined sales exceeding $40 billion and currently manages $3 billion in committed capital. With offices in Menlo Park and New York, Sprout focuses on helping to grow companies in the healthcare technology and information technology sectors. Sprout Group is a venture capital affiliate of Credit Suisse First Boston.

New Enterprise Associates
Founded in 1978, NEA now manages $4.8 billion of capital, concentrating on early stage companies in the areas of information technology and medical sciences.

Spray Venture Partners
